Biomass briquettes are a biofuel substitute to Steam Coal. They are used to heat industrial boilers in order to produce electricity from steam. The most common use of the briquettes are in the developing world. This reduces carbon dioxide emissions by partially replacing coal used in power plants with materials that are already contained in the carbon cycle. Although biomass briquettes are usually manufactured, biomass has been used throughout history all over the world from simply starting campfires to the mass generation of electricity. WHAT CAN BE THE RAW MATERIAL FOR MFG. BRIQUETTES? The raw material includes the following waste & residues: 1. FOREST WASTE AND RESIDUES Saw dust,Sander dust, Wood chips & Shavings, Tree bark and Twigs, Pine needles, wild grasses and Shrubs, Bamboo leaves etc. 2. AGRICULTURE WASTE AND RESIDUES: Husk-rice, Coffee, Sun flower, Shells-Groundnut, Almonds and others, Cotton stalks, Arhar stalks, Bagass, Sugar cane leaves and Trash, Mustard stalks, Bajra cobs, Coir dust etc. USE OF BIO MASS BRIQUETTES/MARKETING : Briquettes fuel can be used by the industrial, commercial and house hold sector. It is ideally suited for use in the:- 1. BOILERS Sugar mills, Paper mills, Chemical plants, Dyeing houses, Food Processing units, Oil extraction units, Vanaspati mills can use for steam generation and heating. 2. FORGES For mental heating and melting. 3. BRICK KILNS AND CERAMIC UNITS For firing furnaces. 4. RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL HEATING For winder heating in cold areas and in resturants, canteens etc. 5. GASIFICATION Use of Bio Mass Briquettes for Bio Gas have shown big results and can be used to drive Engines, may eventually replace coal based producer gas systems and oil firing in furnaces. |
